ESTEVEZ: Mediodia en la Llano
TCHAIKOVSKY: Violin Concerto
SIBELIUS: Symphony No. 1

Music Director of the Tucson Symphony José Luis Gomez returns to Omaha for a whirlwind set of performances. In the center, Tchaikovsky’s glorious yet fiendish Violin Concerto, performed by Paul Huang, with “unfailing, attractive, golden, and resonant tone” (The Strad). First, the Omaha premiere of Estevez’s Mediodia en la Llano, a poignant overture from Venezuela. Sibelius’s sweeping Symphony No. 1 closes the program in triumph, a heart-stirring adventure for the entire orchestra.

For the respect and consideration of all Omaha Symphony patrons, children under 5 years of age are prohibited from attending this performance.
