omaha community playhouse

Founded in 1924, the Omaha Community Playhouse continues to produce and present a full season of shows. It's the largest community playhouse in the nation, and also happens to be where Henry Fonda made his acting debut in 1925! The playhouse is home to two state-of-the-art performance spaces: the 560-seat proscenium Howard and Rhonda Hawks Mainstage Theatre and the 200-seat black box Howard Drew Theatre.

Tickets are available from Ticket Omaha and the Omaha Community Playhouse Box Office.

arriving for a show

OCP recommends audience members arrive at least 15 minutes in advance of the performance. Patrons who arrive late will be seated at the discretion of the OCP House Manager. Latecomers may not be seated in their assigned seats until intermission.

For the Hawks Mainstage Theatre, ticket scanning may begin 45 minutes prior to posted curtain times. However, theatre doors for seating will open 30 minutes prior to posted curtain times for both theatres. Your seat is guaranteed only until the posted curtain time.
