Inspired by the rousing true story of newsboys in turn-of-the-century New York City. It’s 1899 and a group of newsboys rise up against powerful newspaper publishers. Led by the charismatic Jack Kelly, the “newsies” go on strike to fight for fair wages and better working conditions, discovering the strength of unity and the power of standing up for what’s right.

Including the now-classic songs "Carrying the Banner", "Seize the Day", and "Santa Fe", Newsies JR. is a timeless story full of spirit and heart.

Presented by the Youth Troupe of the Shirlee & Henry Fonda Theatre Academy, the education wing of the Omaha Community Playhouse.
