Shayna Steele brings soulful sound to Jazz on the Green Thursday, July 26, 2018

Jul 23, 2018, 13:27 PM by Kelly Bartnick

Praised for her “prodigious pipes” by Time Out New York, Steele
fuses jazz, R&B and soul in knockout performances.

Omaha Performing Arts presents rising star Shayna Steele live in Turner Park Thursday, July 26, 2018.

Shayna Steele is a vocal force to be reckoned with. Steele got her start at just 15 years old by appearing on Ed McMahon’s Star Search. She later pursued a music degree. In 2005, she found success working with Moby on the single “Raining Again” and later laid down vocals for Moby’s theme song for “The Bourne Ultimatum,” called “Extreme Ways.” Steele has also performed on Broadway in Rent, Jesus Christ Superstar and in the original cast of Hairspray. Her dynamite vocals have backed up Bette Midler, John Legend, Rihanna, Dolly Parton and many more.

Arrive early for preshow music by the Brandon Armstrong Quartet.
