Dancers of MOMIX: Opus Cactus will delight all ages

OMAHA, Neb. (April, 17 2017) – Experience exceptional inventiveness and beauty when Omaha Performing Arts presents MOMIX, a company of dancer-illusionists, at 7:30 PM Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the Orpheum Theater.
MOMIX: Opus Cactus is presented as part of Omaha Performing Arts’ 2016/2017 Dance series and presented by The Nebraska Arts Council and the Nebraska Cultural Endowment. With nothing more than light, shadow, props, and the human body, MOMIX has astonished audiences on five continents for more than 35 years. Opus Cactus is a visual journey into the mysteries and hidden secrets of the Southwest. The dancers of Opus Cactus present a mesmerizing production as they create dynamic images of cacti, slithering lizards and fire dancers.

Known internationally for presenting work of exceptional inventiveness and physical beauty, MOMIX is a company of dancer-illusionists under the direction of Moses Pendleton. In addition to stage performances world-wide, MOMIX has worked in film and television, recently appearing in a national commercial for Hanes underwear and a Target ad that premiered during the airing of the 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards. With performances on PBS' “Dance in America” series, France’s Antenne II, and Italian RAI television, the company’s repertory has been broadcast to 55 countries.
