High School Concert Bands to Showcase Talents at Holland Center April 2

Eleven Bands will Compete on Sunday

Omaha, Neb. (March 29, 2017) – Eleven area high school bands will be featured in a concert band showcase this Sunday, April 2 at 2:00 PM at the Omaha Performing Arts Band Day at the Holland Performing Arts Center, Kiewit Concert Hall.

The public is invited to attend this showcase event. Tickets are $5 and are available at, 402.345.0606 or at the Ticket Omaha Box Office inside the Holland Performing Arts Center, 1200 Douglas Street.

Last year was the first Band Day created and conducted by Omaha Performing Arts and featured nine area high school bands. It was so successful the event is being repeated with two additional bands in the showcase. Each concert band will perform two or three selections and receive a recording of its performance.

“This showcase celebrates the talent and quality of our area high school bands,” Laura Kendall, Omaha Performing Arts Vice President of Programming and Education, said. “The response from the bands has been fantastic,” she added. “It’s a great opportunity for them to perform on stage as they prepare for the District Music Contest in late April.”
