Midland University hosts 2016 Gospel Honors Choir, Carol Dennis Special guest artist

OMAHA, Neb. (October 27, 2016) - Midland University hosts its 2016 Gospel Honors Choir concert at the Holland Performing Arts Center in Omaha, Neb., on Sunday, November 6 at 7:00 p.m. Broadway star Carol Dennis is this year’s special guest artist.

Dennis has a prestigious background in music and theatre. She has starred in Broadway musicals including “The Color Purple,” “Street Corner Symphony,” “Big River,” and “The Wiz.” Dennis has also been a backup singer for Wonderlove, The Carpenters, Bob Dylan, Kenny Loggins, Bruce Springsteen, and Michael Jackson.
The annual Gospel Honors Choir project brings together over 300 high school and Midland University students, and professional musicians—uniting communities through music. High school students are nominated by their teachers to participate in the event. Students selected for the event are eligible to receive a special scholarship to Midland University.

In addition to the performance at the Holland Center, Midland University is bringing the Gospel Honors Choir project to Holdrege, Neb. to involve interested students in the western part of the state. The first Western Gospel Honors Choir event takes place Saturday, November 5, at The Tassel in Holdrege, Neb., 4:00 p.m.
