The Girl of the Golden West – Free Lunchtime Preview Friday, February 5, 2016

Omaha, Neb. (January 22, 2016) – Opera Omaha is offering Midday Music, a free lunchtime preview of the upcoming opera The Girl of the Golden West, Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, 12:15 p.m. at Opera Omaha. The 30-minute program offers a crash course into Puccini’s great American western The Girl of the Golden West

Midday Music is a free community program that occurs the Friday before opening night of Opera Omaha’s productions. This free event will be hosted by Director Lillian Groag and Conductor Andrew Bisantz and feature a performance by Baritone Michael Mayes who plays Jack Rance. This dialogue and performance will provide the audience with a quick taste of the story and music behind Puccini’s love story. An audience Q&A will follow. The event is free, however those attending, should RSVP at www.operaomaha.org under Upcoming Events. Tables will be set, so patrons are encouraged to bring a meal or pre-order their lunch through Opera Omaha at registration.
