LOU HARRISON: Pipa Concerto
LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN: Symphony No. 6, “Pastoral”
For possibly the first time ever, American composer Lou Harrison’s music comes to the Holland, championed by the “virtuosic and enchanting” (San Francisco Chronicle) pipa legend Wu Man. Helping celebrate the Lunar New Year and hopeful beginnings is Chen Yi’s glorious, celebratory Shuo for strings, and Beethoven’s bucolic Symphony No. 6, “Pastoral,” a treat for the ears and the imagination.
