Celebrating Malcolm X’s centennial in partnership with the Malcolm X Memorial Foundation, we will interview NEA Jazz Master, two-time Emmy® and Oscar® nominee, and eight-time Grammy® winning trumpeter & composer Terence Blanchard. Blanchard will talk about his Malcolm X Jazz Suite; created for Spike Lee’s 1992 film Malcolm X about the human rights and civil rights icon, for which Blanchard wrote and performed the score. Blanchard will also perform his Malcolm X Jazz Suite live on Saturday, October 11 at 7:30 PM at the Holland Center.
