Led by Concertmaster Susanna Perry Gilmore and featuring Principal Keyboard Christi Zuniga and Principal Flute Maria Harding, the most famous of Bach’s Brandenburg Concerti is a veritable barnburner of Baroque writing. Mendelssohn’s love affair with Scotland was warmly returned; his Symphony No. 3, “Scottish,” is imbued with all the dances, rhythms, and tunes he delighted in during his many trips to the British Isles.
