HAMILTON will play at Omaha’s Orpheum Theater, September 10 through September 29, 2019, closing out one of Omaha Performing Arts’ biggest Broadway season. The performance dates for the previously announced HAMILTON were unveiled today by Joan Squires, president of Omaha Performing Arts. The long-awaited announcement was one of several Squires made at the sold-out annual Season Reveal attended by over 2,000 guests at the Holland Performing Arts Center.
Omaha Performing Arts unveiled a season jam-packed with seven Broadway touring productions (two more than in previous seasons) as well as a Broadway Special that can be added on, plus some audience favorites, rising stars, family productions, the popular 1200 Club, the beautiful National Geographic Live and much more.
The Season Reveal included performances from upcoming presentations:
- Leonardo Sandoval with a tap tribute from Dorrance Dance;
- Korie Blossey sang “Friend Like Me” from Disney’s ALADDIN;
- Diane Marson and Nick Marson, real-life participants whose story is part of COME FROM AWAY; and
- David Hein and Irene Sankoff, COME FROM AWAY creators who sang “Stop The World.”
“We’ve got more Broadway than ever before.” Squires said. “Add in Family, Dance, Jazz, Showcase, National Geographic Live, 1200 Club and we have the right combination of cutting edge performers, big names, and tomorrow’s stars for a diverse range of entertainment options sure to appeal to everyone.”
“We’re excited to present eight outstanding Broadway touring productions, three straight from Broadway and one play,” Squires said. “An audience favorite, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA, returns to Omaha as an added Broadway Special.”
Squires also announced that the only way to secure a HAMILTON ticket now is to purchase a Broadway season package. “We expect the demand to be very heavy for these packages so if you are a subscriber we ask that you renew early.”
Current Broadway subscribers can renew their subscription packages for 2018/2019 now online here on the phone, 402-345-0606 or at the Ticket Omaha Box Office, inside the Holland Performing Arts Center,1200 Douglas St. A limited number of new season packages will be on sale beginning Tuesday, March 20 at 10 a.m. Individual tickets for the public will go on sale later.
